Sometimes the weather is our friend, and sometimes, it’s not. When hail happens, we all duck and cover, but we can’t protect our cars outside, and sometimes they take a beating. Hail damage causes hundreds or thousands of tiny dents all over our vehicle, and what do we do?
We need to get it fixed and bring our car back to the original shape, and we would love to help you at Dent Detail Paintless Dent Removal. We are in Lancashire and serve the surrounding areas efficiently.
How is hail damage repaired?
Hail damage is repaired by a technician trained for 3-7 years to be proficient in this craft. It is the art of manipulating metal back into its original shape. We use tools that are all different shapes and sizes, usually a rod, or a metal hand tool, that is massaged on the backside of your vehicle to repair the dents and move the metal back to the shape it was when the car came off the line from the manufacturer.
Sometimes we do not have access to certain areas on your car, and we have to use a glue pulling method. When we use this process to repair, we pull the dent up and then push it back down, flattening out the metal. We may have to do this many times to get the shape correct.
Certain parts of your car are taken apart. Your headliner may come down, your bonnet will come off, and the same with the boot. We are experts at taking panels off and putting them back, so you never knew we were there.
What does hail damage repair do to the paint on my car?
Nothing. Hail damage repaired correctly should not affect your paint. It keeps your paint in factory condition, which is one of the beautiful things about PDR, is that we do not devalue your vehicle.
Do you use filler, Bondo, or paint?
We do not use any Bondo, filler, or paint. Your vehicle would be painted only if the hail was so extreme that the paint cracked. If this is the case, we will do a combination repair; your car would come to us for the paintless dent removal and a body shop for the paint repair. We can do some touch-up repair in our shop.
What if the hail damage isn’t that bad?
We would tell you to come in and let us have a look at it. Sometimes you can’t see everything with your naked eye, and we can see a lot more when we put a specialized light on it, and you can see exactly how much damage has occurred to your vehicle.
Our goal at Dent Detail Paintless Dent Removal is to fix your car smoothly, efficiently, and with grace for you. We want to answer any questions, and if this did not, please give us a ring. We want you to understand the process, our pricing, and the value that we are bringing to your repair.
