Pricing a Dent in Manchester

When you get a dent or a ding on your car, it’s frustrating, and you don’t know how you will get it fixed and what it is going to cost. Your beautiful auto now has an unsightly blemish on it, and it’s driving you crazy. How do you find the best shop to repair it? What is it going to cost me to fix it? We are the shop in Manchester that want’s to earn your business.

When we price dents, it’s not a number we pick out of thin air; no magic goes into this. A computer does it, and here are the factors that we use to price a dent.

First, we look at the size. We measure the dent to see how long it is the longest point and then how deep the dent is on the panel.

Then we look at the type of metal aluminum, steel, HSS, or high strengths steel.  All different metal is different strengths. This contributes to the time of repair. Aluminum is eight times harder to move than regular steel, and high strength steel is more substantial than traditional steel, so again, depending on the metal, the cost can rise, and the repair time is longer.

Next, we look at the type of dent, crease, vertical horizontal. Creases, like if the rubbish can was drug down the door, are a lot more involved to fix than a small shallow door ding.

How do we need to fix it, do we need to take the car apart, is there easy access? Do we need to take door panels apart? This step is called R&I or Remove and Install. This is a process of taking the car apart and putting it back together. These times are dictated by software on how long it takes to bring your brands of cars door apart. Some dents we can get into and gain access to quickly, while some take us more time because of their location.

There are other factors in the process, the type of glass in your windows (because we don’t want to break that while repairing the door, that would be terrible.) Certain cars have products that are one-time use only, such as a molding next to your window that needs to come off to gain access; if this happened, we would need to order and replace that for you. Every car has a different situation. The easiest way for you to get a price is to call us and set up an appointment for you to come by the shop.
